Starting out from Hamburg (not quite the same line up) they sang and rocked their way along through concert tours of Great Britain to their first No1. ‘Love Me Do’ in the summer of 1963. The albums kept on coming with ‘Please Please Me’, ‘With The Beatles’, ‘A Hard Day’s Night’. then there was the trip to Paris followed closely by the trip to America, with the world beating performance on the Ed Sullivan show. They made three movies ‘A Hard Day’s Night’, ‘Help’ and ‘The Magical Mystery Tour’ which established them in that art. They toured the world. They made ‘Beatles For Sale’ Rubber Soul’ and ‘Revolver’. They toured America three times in a year. In 1967 their manager Brian Epstein died leaving them to face the world alone. They formed ‘Apple’ a firm dedicated to helping others succeed in artistic endeavours. They recorded ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ which has been consistently voted the best album of all time, ‘The Beatles’ ‘Yellow Submarine’, ‘Abbey Road’ and ‘Let It Be’. By 1970 they began to split and early in 1971 it was all over. John Lennon was shot on Dec 8th 1980 in New York.
