I am “Everybody’s Favorite Tour Guide!” , James D. Jones and it’s my job to take each and every single one of you through the Beatle Years and Beyond!
The Beatles and the music they made together have entertained and inspired countless generations! The music is timeless and ageless. From babies to grandparents, the music of the Beatles is magical and so very easy to sing along with, that we all know the words by heart.
The feelings that we feel from the Beatles music, is just a roller coaster of emotions. From the early days of Beatlemania to right up to the “break up”, the feelings mark happiness, love, inspiration, rebellion, freedom, sadness and a vast ocean of other feelings have been credited to the music of the Beatles.
Here at the Magical Mystery Tour, we embark on a journey through the Beatle Years and Beyond. The music and the personalities behind the music makes the trip all worth the while! The first hour of the show is dedicated to the Beatles. The big hits, the deeper album cuts, rarities, and live performances are our 1st destination. The second hour is all about the Solo Years of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. It is during the 2nd hour that I, through the magic of radio, reunite the Fab Four with their music. I take great care in segueing their Solo efforts as if the Beatles never broke up but rather instead stayed together making the music that played in the background of our lives. From time to time I even treat listeners to the “best seats in the house” to the concerts that never were with my “Beatles Fantasy Reunion Concerts” from blending the music from their solo years. It is for the listener truly a Magical experience! And if that wasn’t enough, I also take you Beyond the Beatles to their “inner circle” of artists and friends, thus the Beyond moments of our journey.
Let me introduce myself proper to you. I am “Everybody’s Favorite Tour Guide”, james d. jones. I have been doing my Beatles radio show going on for over 15 years and let me tell you I absolutely love it! I am a fan of the Beatles just like you, so there is a true sincerity when I broadcast the Magical Mystery Tour. I have a real passion for the music. The music though is just one part of the Beatles story. I take you on a more personal journey through the stories behind your favorite Beatle songs. The Beatles as individuals are yet another story to add to the picture and you hear it in their own words who they were, their thoughts and what they felt during the 60’s,70’s, 80’s, 90’s and beyond!
I currently am broadcasting at the WKCC 91.1 fm. It’s where I am ON AIR every Sunday from 3-5 pm U.S. Central Time Zone in the Southland’s of Chicago, IL. The people involved with WKCC 91.1 FM are truly passionate about radio and I am glad to be a part of their team. The WKCC 91.1 FM is a Public Radio Station that is Intelligent Broadcasting at it’s best that makes us think with it’s content & moves us with the variety of music and programming! That is why I agreed to be part of the WKCC! I also absolutely enjoy the fact that the Magical Mystery Tour is available On The Air & Streaming World Wide Online. Because of this I am blessed with fans from around the community & around the globe! All through the USA to the United Kingdom, throughout Europe, Australia, Asia, Japan, Africa, Spain, Portugal, Canada and South America as well as beyond I have had the privilege to entertain countless Beatles fans.
To sum up the Magical Mystery Tour the Beatle Years and Beyond is simple. It is a unique Beatles program that is easy to enjoy and very personable with you, the listener in mind. Like a dear friend who comes to your house for a visit and breaks out the record player and those forgotten LP records and tells the stories behind the songs of the Beatle Years and Beyond. The 2 hours go by way too fast leaving you wanting more!!!
